My overall opinion of this self tanning dry oil is that it’s pretty average. There are some things I like about it, and some things I don’t.
This is dry oil, so it’s a very thin liquid. It has a shimmer to it, which I usually don’t like, I’d rather get shimmer from a bronzer.
Applying it is pretty easy, as long as you use a mitt or gloves. I think if you use your hands, it will become a mess.
The thing I dislike most about this product is how sticky it was after I applied it! I felt sticky and wet for hours after I applied; it was sooo uncomfortable.
The color it gives is a very nice medium shade. I was actually surprised how dark my tan was and how good it looked.
It lasted 6 days, but it doesn’t fade well at all.
So overall, it has good color, but some drawbacks are the drying time and that it fades unevenly.
So, I rank this self tanner 2.5 out of 5 stars.
Look and Feel
In the bottle, this dry oil looks like a shimmery brown liquid. However, when it comes out of the bottle, it’s more of a clear liquid with shimmer in it. When you apply, it has no color and it feels like your applying water or a normal body oil to your skin. Your skin does look really shimmery when you apply it though!
The oil itself is a very thin texture.
Applying this one is super easy and non-messy. I used a mitt to apply it, but gloves would probably work better, because I found that the tanning mitt absorbed a lot of the product since it’s so thin.
I couldn’t see where I was applying the product, as there’s no color guide. So you’ll need to be tedious and careful when you apply to make sure you don’t miss any spots.
The good news is I didn’t need to worry about a color guide staining anything. If you use your bare hands, I could see this one being pretty messy as the product would probably just drip through your fingers.
Body Drench Quick Tan Self Tan Dry Oil is SOO sticky. This is literally one of the stickiest self tanners I’ve ever used. I thought it would dry pretty quickly because its texture is so thin. Nope, it’s so tacky feeling once applied.
It took a few hours before it didn’t feel sticky.
Smell (Before Application)
The smell of Body Drench Quick Tan Self Tan Dry Oil is pretty good. To me, it smells really sweet, almost fruity. I don’t know exactly what it smells like, but it smells really good to me.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
The next morning it smelled worse. It smelled more like self tanner rather than the sweet perfume smell, which sucked.
I was pleasantly surprised with the color this tanner produces. I got a medium shade tan after one application. My tan looked natural and brown, not orange at all. I’d say I got 2-3 shades darker.
I also didn’t notice any streaking or patchy areas, so I did a good job applying this one despite the lack of color guide.
How Long It Lasts
My tan lasted about 6 days with the one, which is really good! It faded pretty patchy the last few days; it looked weird. But I’m happy that my tan lasted so long.
OK For Men?
This one may be okay for men. It produces a nice, medium tan, but it’s SO sticky. I dread using it again just due to that fact. So don’t say I didn’t warn ya ;)
This is one of the cheapest self tanners out there. It’s only $12 for a 7.2 ounce bottle. That’s less than $2.00 per ounce!
