All in all, I do like this Bondi Sands Ultra Dark Foam.
The scent, color produced, and price are all great! I do wish the color was a bit darker, however. I couldn’t see a huge difference between their dark shade and this one. But the color it gives is a very nice medium to dark shade.
The smell is also to die for; I love the tropical scent.
Now, the drying time is a bit long, and I felt sticky while I waited for it to dry.
The guide is also very dark and a little hard to work with.
So, in my opinion, this mousse is better than your average self tanner.
Look and Feel
This Bondi Sands mousse is a little on the thinner side, and it has a dark brown appearance. The guide is definitely one of the darker ones out there and has a greenish tint to it once applied.
This foam is SO dark and can be messy to apply. Using a tanning mitt or glove is an absolute must when applying this one or else your palms will be a brown mess.
The mousse itself is a bit harder to blend in just due to the guide. When I was done applying, my tan looked pretty even overall, SO unnatural, and kind of green. So, you can’t exactly just leave the house after you apply it. With this mousse, a little bit seems to go a long way.
Bondi Sands Ultra Dark Foam felt very sticky to the touch until it dried. It dried in around 45 minutes, so not the fastest drying, but also not the worst. I would’ve liked to see it dry a bit faster just because it’s a pain waiting to apply clothing for 45 minutes.
Smell (Before Application)
This product smells delicious! It has a nice tropical scent that Bondi Sands is known for. I can’t smell any DHA when I’m applying it, which is great. I really can’t get enough of the way this product smells!
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
After my tan developed, I could smell a little bit of DHA, but that’s to be expected with darker self tanners. The darker they are, the more DHA they have in them!
So, I really like my tan from this product, but I wouldn’t consider it an “ultra dark” shade.
I honestly couldn’t tell much of a difference between their dark mousse and their ultra dark mousse.
My tan was more of a medium to dark shade, but it did look very nice and natural. I like that it doesn’t streak at all, giving me that just back from vacation look.
The color is a nice brown, not orange. But if I put their dark shade on one leg and ultra dark on the other, I unfortunately don’t think I’d be able to tell the difference. So, for this being an “ultra dark” shade, I wish it was a shade or two darker than it is.
How Long It Lasts
My tan lasted about 4-5 days with Bondi Sands Ultra Dark Foam. I’m happy with how long it lasts, and think I’d need to apply it 1-2 times a week to maintain my tan.
It didn’t look so great as it faded, however. It made my skin pretty dry.
OK For Men?
Yes, but if you want to be REALLY dark, don’t expect that when using this one.
Bondi Sands Ultra Dark Foam is $29.00 per bottle, which is a great price for this product!
