Overall, I gave Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanner 2 out of 5 stars.
This is a self tanner for your face and décolleté.
I was really happy with the application process as it was clean and easy.
The color is where I was disappointed. My face and neck were barely one shade darker when I woke up the following morning.
You’ll definitely need to use this one a few days in a row to see any noticeable color.
The smell is strong and perfumey, and the next morning I could smell DHA.
So overall, the is a below average self tanner.
Look and Feel
This is a “liquid”, but to me it seems more like a very thin lotion.
It’s white in color, so it has no color guide at all. It kinda looks like a normal facial moisturizer, only not as thick.
The directions say to apply onto a cotton pad and then apply to your face.
I really liked this application method, as it was very simple and clean. I’m going to use this trick to apply all my facial self tanners from now on!
I just dumped a little of the product onto a pad, and rubbed onto my face as I would a toner.
I have dark eyebrows, so I don’t need to worry about them getting discolored. But for those of you with lighter eyebrows, be very careful. I’d recommend applying Vaseline to your brows and hairline before you apply if you’re worried about them turning orange.
Since the product is white, you don’t need to worry about it staining anything during the application process.
Once applied, Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning dried in about 15 minutes.
I didn’t need to worry about it being sticky or getting on anything because I only applied to my face and neck.
Smell (Before Application)
This one smells ok, and some of you out there will like it. For me, I find it’s too perfumey though.
It smells of floral perfume, and I think the scent is too strong for a facial self tanner.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
I could smell a little self tanning smell the next day. It wasn’t too bad, but I could smell it because it was on my face.
I was very underwhelmed with the color Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning produced.
This is a self tanner solely for you face and décolleté, so that’s where I applied it.
When I woke up the next morning, I was barely one shade darker. The color was very light, and I had almost forgotten I applied self tanner the night before because I was still pale.
This would work better as a gradual self tanner, but I really don’t prefer gradual tanners for my face. I prefer only tanning it once or twice per week, because I like using my anti-aging and acne creams the rest of the nights.
Also, if this is a gradual tanner, it sure doesn’t say so anywhere.
I also got a few small blemishes on my face after using this product, which is another downside.
How Long It Lasts
Since the color is so light, my tan only lasted a day.
Facial self tanners usually don’t last as long, because the skin on your face turns over faster. Plus, I wash my face daily which causes my tan to fade.
But I still expected it to last longer than 1 day
OK For Men?
No, I think the color is very light, and you’ll have to apply often.
Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning is $9.05 which isn’t too bad for a facial self tanner. But I think there are better ones out there for your money.
