Overall, I gave Ibiza Honey Instant Tanning Mousse Dark 2 out of 5 stars.
I would’ve ranked it a little higher if it weren’t for the hefty price tag and the unbearable smell.
I was happy with my medium to dark tan. It looked natural and brown.
However, the scent was just so bad, and the price tag was pretty high.
So if you’re in desperate need of a nice tan, this one could work. But you can’t say I didn’t warn you of the scent and the money you’ll fork over!
Look and Feel
This is a mousse that comes out watery and sludgy looking. It has a dark brown guide that looks green in some lights.
When I received this one it was all taped up, and it still exploded in the mail. So I received a dark brown, liquidy mess in the mail, so it wasn’t a good first impression.
Since this mousse is on the watery side, you must use a tanning mitt to apply it or else it’ll be a nightmare and get everywhere.
To be on the safe side, I’d still apply this one while standing on an old towel or in the shower.
The guide helps you see where you’re applying the mousse, and it immediately gives your skin some color.
Ibiza Honey Instant Tanning Mousse Dark dried in about 20 minutes, which isn’t so bad.
I had to stand in my bathroom waiting for it to dry before I felt okay putting my clothes on. You just need to be really careful with this one and the dark guide.
Smell (Before Application)
This self tanner smells gross.
It smells like DHA, kind of like spray tans used to smell (before they added a bunch of fragrance to them).
The DHA smell was overwhelming, and didn’t smell pleasant at all.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
The next morning, I could still smell a lot of DHA.
The smell grew stronger over night, and it was so smelly by the next morning.
Ibiza Honey Instant Tanning Mousse Dark gave me a medium to dark shade tan.
My tan looked pretty good, except for around my ankles looked funky.
The color was brown and not orange, which is a huge plus.
I noticed the tan was smooth, and not streaky at all as well.
I was pretty pleased with the color I got from this one!
How Long It Lasts
My tan lasted 4 days before fading. I got pretty splotchy skin as this one faded.
OK For Men?
No. The color is good, but it’s so pricey and it doesn’t smell good.
Ibiza Honey Instant Tanning Mousse Dark is over $50.00 per bottle! That is SO expensive.
