I gave Laurens Way Self Tan Bronzing Lotion 2.5 out of 5 stars, so I found it to be pretty average.
It produces a decent color; it just faded away way too quickly.
The dark guide can get pretty messy, and the smell is citrus mixed with DHA.
I like the price point and how quickly it dries, but I just hate how often you’ll have to reapply this one!
So overall, there were a few things I like, and a few I don’t.
Look and Feel
Laurens Way Self Tanning Bronzing Lotion is a thick, gel-like, lotion that has a super dark guide in it.
The guide is so dark it’s almost black, and the lotion has a slick, slimy feel to it.
This one turned out to be pretty messy to apply.
The lotion took a while to fully blend in due to the black guide. I ended up rubbing it in for a few minutes before I saw the guide start to blend into my skin.
I’d highly recommend wearing a tanning mitt while applying this one otherwise your hands will turn into an orange mess.
The lotion has a slimy feel to it, which makes it a little runny, so be careful not to drip any on the floor!
This self tanner dried pretty quickly.
I was completely dry about 15 minutes after application, that’s a definite plus in my book.
I didn’t feel too sticky or wet while I waited for it to dry, just be careful not to put your clothes on before it’s fully dried or else they’ll get stained.
Smell (Before Application)
This one smelled like citrus mixed with DHA.
It didn’t smell horrible, but it wasn’t the best smell either.
The citrus scent was fresh and clean, but the DHA smell overpowered that a bit.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
As my tan developed, the smell slowly faded away.
By the next morning I couldn’t smell and DHA or citrus.
I tried this one in the “medium” shade, and I ended up with a light to medium tan.
The color was nice, but it was a little too light for my liking.
I would’ve liked to be a few shades darker to get a true medium tan.
I had a few scaly areas on my arms and legs, but they weren’t too noticeable due to the light color.
How Long It Lasts
This one didn’t last long at all.
By day 2 my tan was fading away, and by day 3 it was completely gone.
I wish it lasted longer, because I was left looking as pale as I started after only 2-3 days.
As it faded the tan also became pretty splotchy and patchy.
OK For Men?
I think this one is too messy and fades too quickly for men to like it.
The price is cheap and the color is decent, but I think there are some others that are better.
Laurens Way Self Tanning Bronzing Lotion works out to $3.37 per ounce which is on the cheaper side.
The bottle retails for $17.50, than you have to pay an extra $11.00 to ship to the USA. So overall, the price isn’t too bad.
