I gave Suntegrity 5 in 1 Self Tanner 2 out of 5 stars.
So I’m not very impressed with it, but I do like that it’s vegan, non-toxic, and all natural.
For me, the color I got was way too light and too orange. It just didn’t look natural or “sun-kissed” at all. It literally looked like I had used a self tanner, and not a good one at that.
I also experienced some streaks on my upper body, which made my tan look even more unnatural.
I like that the product is moisturizing for my skin, but my tan still only lasted 2-3 days, which isn’t very good.
The smell isn’t the best; it smells pretty strongly of sour DHA.
And, in my opinion, it’s just too pricey for what you get.
Look and Feel
Suntegrity 5 in 1 Self Tanner comes out as a thick, white lotion.
There’s no color guide, so it really resembles body cream or body butter. The texture is thicker than a lot of self tanners.
Applying this one requires a little elbow grease. Although it’s white in color, you can still tell where you’re applying it because it turns white as soon as you start blending it in (like sunscreen does).
So while I was blending it in, my body looked like a ghost… it was all white. It took about 5 minutes to fully soak into my skin, which was annoying. I think this is called the “soaping” effect.
The thick texture makes it more difficult to apply as well.
I still used a tanning mitt to protect my hands.
Since this product is so thick, it takes a little while to completely dry. Once applied, it took about 30-40 minutes to dry.
That’s a little longer than average.
Smell (Before Application)
They claim this product has a good scent, but I’m not a huge fan.
It doesn’t smell horrible, but you can definitely still smell DHA in there. To me, DHA was the overpowering scent, with a little bit of fruity fragrance as an after thought.
The fruity smell resembles berries to me.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
By the next morning, I stunk. I smelled so strongly of DHA, I was even making myself nauseous!
I had a light tan after one application.
I wasn’t very happy with my tan, it was orangey and just not dark enough. This is definitely more of a gradual self tanner.
After two applications, my tan was slightly darker, but still orange. It just doesn’t look natural on my skin tone.
Plus, I had some streaks on my upper arms and shoulders, causing it to look even more unnatural!
I was pretty let down by the color this one produces.
How Long It Lasts
The light tan I got lasted about 2-3 days.
So, the color payoff and how long it lasts just aren’t worth it to me.
OK For Men?
No, I don’t think men will like it.
Even though this is called a “natural self tanner”, it’s not natural looking at all.
Suntegrity 5 in 1 Natural Self Tanner is actually pretty expensive.
A 5 ounce bottle is $36.00, which makes it $7.20 per ounce! As far as self tanners go, that’s on the high side.
