I found Tarte Brazillians Plus Self Tanner to be better than average, but the color just wasn’t dark enough.
This is more of a gradual tanner, but nowhere does it say that’s what it is. However, if you’re looking for a light tan, this may be the tanner for you to try.
I really enjoyed the mitt they provided with this one, it’s high quality and makes applying the product very easy.
I also enjoyed the light, sweet smell. I couldn’t smell any DHA, which was a big plus.
My tan was even and natural, but it was very light. I’d have to apply it at least 3 days in a row to get my desired shade.
So overall, I gave this self tanner 3.25 out of 5 stars.
Look and Feel
This is a very slick lotion. It’s on the thicker side, but the texture is very nice and smooth.
Tarte Brazilliance Plus + Self Tanner also has a very dark guide, so it comes out almost black looking.
I found this self tanner very easy to apply.
A tanning mitt comes with the product, and the mitt is awesome. It’s higher quality than most mitts, and it makes applying the product a breeze.
It glides over your skin easily, and blends in nicely.
The guide helps you see where you’re applying the product.
It took about 30 minutes to completely dry, which is about average.
The drying time didn’t bother me too bad, and after it dried my skin felt very smooth which was a nice perk.
Smell (Before Application)
I think this one definitely smells better than the original Tarte Brazilliance Self Tanner.
It smells sweet, and light. There is no overpowering perfume or DHA smell.
I did enjoy the smell, I think they did a good job improving it.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
The good smell faded by the next morning, but the good news is I never smelled DHA.
I think those who are looking for a lighter more natural tan will like the results this self tanner produces.
Tarte Brazilliance Plus Self Tanner gave me a light to medium tan (more on the light side). I was a bit disappointed with the color, as I wished I was darker.
I remember I had the same problem with the original Tarte Brazilliance. I liked a lot about it, but the color just wasn’t up to par. Well, I’m sad to say they didn’t darken the color at all with this new formula.
I will say, the color was very natural and smooth looking, just way too light for me. This is one you’ll have to apply at least 3 times a week to maintain a nice color.
How Long It Lasts
My light tan lasted about 2-3 days before fading. As it faded it didn’t become splotchy, and it looked very natural.
I think this is more of a gradual tanner, so you’ll need to apply it often.
OK For Men?
Yes, if you’re only looking for a light to medium tan I think this is a good one.
Tarte Brazilliance Plus + Self Tanner is $39 per bottle which is higher than your average self tanner.
