Tarte Brazilliance Self Tanner performed really well in our tests.
It’s really easy to apply, dries extremely fast for a lotion and produces a nice, even natural shade of tan.
The only things we didn’t like, and what kept us from rating it higher were the not-so-great smell and the fact that the final color wasn’t very dark.
But overall, this is a very good self tanner that a lot of you will like!
Look and Feel
Tarte Brazilliance Self Tanner comes our of the tube as a very dark lotion or gel. It’s very light to the touch.
Despite Tarte Brazilliance having a very dark guide, it’s still pretty easy to apply.
The included mitt is a big help… making blending and smoothing fairly simple. And it didn’t take as long as most dark lotions take to apply.
Thumbs up here.
For a lotion/gel, Tarte Brazilliance Self Tanner dries extremely fast.
In fact, it felt completely dry after about 20 minutes.
And it didn’t really rub off like most self tanners this dark do.
Smell (Before Application)
We didn’t really like the smell of Tarte Brazilliance Self Tanner right out of the tube.
It kind of smelled like a cheap perfume; very “floral” smelling.
Some women may not mind it, but to us, it wasn’t great :(
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
After we showered, we didn’t notice any odor at all.
There was no trace of that DHA smell which is a major plus.
If you’re looking for a light-to-medium tan, you can do much worse than Tarte Brazilliance Self Tanner.
The color was very even, smooth, and natural-looking with no streaks.
Too, we liked the actual color after showering much better than what it looked prior to showering the next morning.
For those who like to be dark, this one probably isn’t your best bet.
But for some nice, light color, we actually really like this Tarte self tanner.
How Long It Lasts
This tanner lasts about 2-4 days; which is average to slightly below average. We wish it would last a little bit longer considering how much it costs.
OK For Men?
Men are probably going to want to pass on Tarte Brazilliance Self Tanner.
The dark guide isn’t going to sit too well with most guys and the smell is way too girly.
The 5.5oz. bottle costs $37.00. So that works out to $6.72 per ounce, which is pretty expensive compared to most self tanners.
