Overall Opinion:

I gave Toma’s Air Brush Spray Tan 2.5 out of 5 stars, so it was a middle of the road self tanner.

I didn’t like the application process at all.  The spray came out really uneven, so I had to go back and blend it in with a tanning mitt.  So it ended up being very time consuming and messy due to the dark guide in it.

The smell was weird; it smelled like citrus mixed with some chemicals.

The color ended up being nice, but it just wasn’t dark enough for me.  I ended up with a medium tan; you’ll have to apply it 2-3 days in a row to get a dark tan.  I wish I was darker after one application.

So overall, this one has its pros and cons…at least it’s a good price!

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

This is an airbrush spray, and it comes out with a dark brown guide.

It looks like your spraying brown spray paint out of the bottle.

The spray is a pretty thick mist and it’s hard to get an even application with it.

Application is messy and is a pain.

You should definitely apply this one in the shower because a lot of residue drops on the ground during application.

The spray is really hard to get an even application with.  When I was done spraying it on, I had to go back with a tanning mitt and rub it in because I had circles of dark spots all over my body.

The fact that it has a dark guide as well made it extra messy and hard to work with.

The directions say to hold the bottle 12 to 14 inches from your skin when you apply it.  When I did that, I couldn’t see or feel anything getting on my skin.  So I held it closer, and it was a very narrow mist, only covering a little bit of skin at a time (hence the dark circles all over my body).

It’s almost like a two step application process.  Step one is spraying it, and step two is going back and blending it all in.

Drying Time

It took about 10-15 minutes to dry, which is good.

You have to make sure the guide doesn’t stain anything while you wait for it to dry, because it’s pretty dark and it will stain.

Smell (Before Application)

This one has an odd smell.

It smells like citrus, mixed with something else that doesn’t smell too pleasant.

I couldn’t smell any DHA, but I didn’t really like how the product smelled.  The citrus smelled good, but the chemical smell overpowered it.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

Thankfully, the smell faded away after a few hours and I couldn’t smell any DHA either.

Color Produced

When I woke up the next morning, I really liked the way my tan looked.  It was dark and glowing.

After I washed the guide off, a lot of the darkness washed off as well.  So I was left with a lighter medium shade tan.  The tan still looked nice, but it wasn’t near dark enough for my liking.

You’ll have to apply this one 2 days in a row to reach a dark tan.

I wish it would’ve gotten me 2-3 shades darker than it did, than the tan would be awesome!

It was natural looking, and for those of you looking for a light to medium shade tan you’ll probably like it.

How Long It Lasts

My tan lasted around 2-3 days, than it faded.

It faded very natural, which I was happy about.

But I wish it would’ve lasted long, 2-3 days isn’t very long.

OK For Men?

Men, if you’re looking for a natural, medium shade tan, you may like this one.

But application is a pain!

It’s only $2.80 per ounce, which is reasonable.
